Car impounded? Here's what to do
Walking out to an empty parking spot is a bad moment. The good news: getting your vehicle back is a straightforward process, and the fees involved aren't arbitrary — they follow rates set by the State of Louisiana. Here's the whole thing, step by step.
1. Call us first
Call (337) 803-4TOW with your license plate number or vehicle description. We'll confirm whether we have your vehicle, tell you exactly what's owed, and tell you what to bring. We're available 24 hours a day.
If we don't have your vehicle, it may have been towed by another company or at the direction of law enforcement — the Lafayette Police Department's non-emergency line can tell you which company towed it.
2. Bring the right documents
To release a vehicle, we have to verify you're entitled to it. Bring:
- A valid photo ID (driver's license or state ID)
- Proof of ownership or right to possession — vehicle registration, title, or rental agreement
- If someone is picking the vehicle up for you, call us first so we can tell you what authorization is needed
3. Know how the fees work
If your vehicle was towed at the request of law enforcement or removed from private property, the maximum towing, recovery, and storage rates are prescribed by the Louisiana Public Service Commission — not invented by the towing company. Your invoice will be itemized line by line so you can see how every charge was calculated.
Storage charges accrue by the day. The single best way to keep the cost down is to come get your vehicle as soon as you can.

4. Your personal property
Your personal belongings inside the vehicle are yours. If you need items out of the vehicle, call us and we'll arrange access.
If you believe a charge is wrong
For nonconsensual tows, you have the right to file a complaint with the Louisiana Public Service Commission, Transportation Division — P.O. Box 91154, Baton Rouge, LA 70821, online at lpsc.louisiana.gov, or by phone at 1-888-342-5717. We'd rather you call us first so we can walk through the invoice together — but the right is yours either way.
